About the role:
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals facing social disadvantage, behavioural, developmental, social, and protection issues. You will provide practical and emotional support, helping clients develop life skills, improve confidence, and work towards their goals.
This role involves working with young people who have experienced significant trauma and may have complex medical needs. You will provide trauma-informed care and assist in managing challenging behaviours using therapeutic approaches and positive behaviour support strategies. Applicants must be able to demonstrate resilience and strong professional boundaries for this position.
We encourage applicants who are experienced in working with young people who have experienced trauma and/or disabilities or have transferable skills from roles supporting vulnerable individuals with challenging behaviors to apply.
What we are looking for:
We’re seeking compassionate and experienced support workers to provide care for young people aged 15 to 17 with complex needs, including ADHD, ASD (Level 2 & 3), anxiety, intellectual disability and developmental delays. Our clients require specialised mental health support, trauma-informed care and clear boundaries to help manage self-harm, escalating behaviors and communication challenges.
The young people in this home identify as Aboriginal and would benefit from a team members who have a good understanding of Aboriginal cultures and can provide culturally safe and person-centred support.
Our young people thrive when their team can provide structured yet supportive care, firm but fair boundaries and can enjoy a laugh with one another when the time is right. Candidates who enjoy fishing, gaming or physical activities are highly valued.
What you'll do:
- Supporting young people to m anage emotions, develop coping skills, and build resilience.
- Supporting clients to attend medical appointments and manage medications.
- Managing challenging behaviours in a calm and professional manner.
- Helping clients to build independence, self-esteem, and life skill s.
- Writing and maintaining reports, including case notes, incident reports, and behavioural documentatio n.
- Upholding safety policies and following care plans tailored to each client’s needs.
- Providing personal care and daily living assistance ( budgeting, shopping, meal prep, hygiene, cleaning, home management ).
- Assisting clients with community access and social activities.

Please note: these are fixed roster times so please ensure you can commit to the below hours before applying. Additional shifts can be picked up through the fortnight.
Roster 1
Week 1:
- Monday: 6am - 2pm
- Tuesday: 6am - 2pm
- Friday: 6am - 2pm
- Sunday: 2pm - 10pm + sleepover (10:00pm - 6:00am)
Week 2:
- Wednesday: 2pm - 10pm + sleepover (10:00pm - 6:00am)
- Thursday: 2pm - 10pm + sleepover (10:00pm - 6:00am)
Roster 2
Week 1:
- Monday: 2pm - 10pm + sleepover (10:00pm - 6:00am)
- Tuesday: 2pm - 10pm + sleepover (10:00pm - 6:00am)
- Friday: 2pm - 10pm + sleepover (10:00pm - 6:00am)
- Saturday: 2pm - 10pm + sleepover (10:00pm - 6:00am)
- Sunday: 6:00am - 2:00pm
Week 2:
- Wednesday: 6:00am - 2:00pm
- Thursday: 6:00am - 2:00pm
Rotating Lifestyle Roster
- Minimum 56 hours a fortnight - you can pick up additional shifts!
- Enjoy a rotating lifestyle roster working 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off.
- Enjoy every second weekend off, enabling you to pursue personal interests, spend quality time with family and friends, and engage in self care activities.
- This is a shift work position where you will be required to work days, evenings, sleepovers and weekend work as the house is operational 24/7.
Essential requirements
- Hold, or be willing to enrol in an industry-standard course and work towards achieving a minimum Cert IV formal qualification.
- Hold or are eligible to obtain an LCS check, blue card and yellow card.
- Minimum P2 driver’s licence with no restrictions.
- Unrestricted work rights within Australia.
- Flexible to work over a 24/7 roster ( ability to commit to 1 sleepover shifts per week ).
- Computer-literate.
