This Coastal Victorian Service Provides An Integrated Health Service For The Community. The Hospital Was Established Over 150 Years Ago On The Current Site And Now Provides a Comprehensive Range Of Services That Include
Hospital based Medical and Surgical services, Medical Imaging (Radiology), Pharmacy and PathologyA 24/7 Urgent Care Centre for emergency treatmentResidential aged care for 30 residentsAn extensive range of primary and community services for the local communityThe service employs around 470 staff with an FTE of approximately 290 and has an active volunteer workforce.
The primary role is to ensure responsible delivery of safe and effective clinical care that requires a higher level of clinical decision making that is relevant to speech pathology practice. The caseload is approximately an 80:20 split between outpatient and inpatient services. The outpatient load is primarily in paediatrics, providing community health services and support to local families of young children. The speech pathologist is supported by an Allied Health Assistant (Grade 3) who provides paediatric therapy under the delegation of the speech pathologist.

About You
Possession of a tertiary qualification and accreditation as a Speech Pathologist with membership or eligibility for membership with Speech Pathology Australia. Post Graduate clinical qualification(s) in speciality area of practiceExtensive clinical knowledge, skills and leadership experience in speech pathology.Demonstrated sound advanced clinical assessment and analysis skills and knowledge, and ability to implement indicated treatments for individuals and groups.Demonstrated excellent communication skills, written and verbalUnderstanding of relevant accreditation and funding systems, and demonstrated ability to manage continuous improvement portfolioDemonstrated understanding of the needs, issues and sensitivities of people from diverse backgrounds.
