The PositionThe Virtual CFO Advisor at Simic Financial will play a critical role in coaching fast growing clients through business financial process improvement, cash flow management, and strategic decision-making. This part-time role is ideal for an experienced finance professional who thrives in a consulting capacity and enjoys working closely with business owners to drive financial success.The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, KPI metric analysis, and business advisory services. This is a hybrid role based primarily in Geelong. You will be providing clients with tailored financial insights, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to make informed decisions.
Essential Functions: Conducting financial analysis, and strategic planning to support business growth.Developing and maintaining budgets, forecasts, financial models, and cash flow projections.Advising clients on financial management, cost control, and profitability optimization.Preparing and analyzing Monthly Performance Reports to provide actionable insights.Manage 10-15 clients as a hands-on CFO Advisor for their businessesEnsuring compliance with financial regulations and best practices.Assisting with fundraising, valuations, investor relations, and financial due diligence (if required).Implementing and improving financial systems, processes, and internal controls. Including overseeing and providing assistance to bookkeeping staff.Acting as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them navigate financial challenges, and think outside the box for solutions.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field (CPA, CA, CMA, or CFA preferred).7+ years of experience in management accounting, business financial planning, or CFO advisory roles (senior tax roles with advisory experience may also be considered).Experience working with SMEs, startups, or high-growth businesses.Ability to simplify complex financial information and communicate effectively with business owners.Proficiency in financial software, accounting systems, and reporting tools.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.Bonus if you have experience in M&A, International Tax and/or Fathom reporting.
