About the Department for Correctional Services
The Department employs approximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and fifteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. Duties
The IT Service Desk Officer contributes to the provision of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) user support services which support the business units of the Department for Correctional Services (DCS).
The IT Service Desk Officer provides responsive and pro-active customer service and support for IT systems and services to a diverse range of users within agreed service standards and provides a first point of contact for all enquiries and requests for assistance.
The IT Service Desk Officer will diagnose the nature of reported issues, and either resolve the issue immediately or escalate the issue to other support areas, within DCS or to external service providers.
The IT Service Desk Officer will also provide administrative services for the management of user accounts, IT hardware and software assets and other administrative tasks.
Special Conditions
- Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industrial entitlements.
- The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check;
- A current South Australian Driver’s Licence is essential;
- A flexible approach to working hours is required;
- Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.
Requirements
Desirable Qualifications: Qualification/Certification in IT Service Management such as ITIL

ASO3 ($67,589 - $72,033pa)
