In this multifaceted role, you'll provide comprehensive support to Ms Bree James MP, ensuring smooth operations within the electorate office located in Redlynch.
About the role:
As an Assistant Electorate Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the MP's office, providing administrative, organisational, and constituency support. You will work closely with the office manager (the Electorate Officer) and Ms James MP to support her Parliamentary duties and serve the community within the electorate of Barron River.
Your key responsibilities:
Secretarial Support: Provide direct administrative support to Ms James MP.
Coordinate communications: Handle incoming enquiries from constituents, stakeholders and government departments and ensure these are managed end to end in our CRM.
Diary Management: Assist withthe diary of the Member, scheduling appointments, meetings, and events .
Correspondence Management: Draft and proofread briefing notes, letters, emails, for the Member, Ministers and constituents.
Event Management: Support the organisation of community events, meetings, and parliamentary activities.
Social Media & Design: Oversee social media platforms and perform occasional graphic design and video editing tasks.
Information Dissemination: Compile and distribute newsletters and updates.
Research: Undertake research on various issues to support the MP's initiatives.
Maintain Records: Ensure databases, office records, and administrative systems are maintained.
Monitor: Local issues, assist in casework, and ensure prompt responses.
Community Engagement: Manage enquiries from constituents and community groups, providing information on public services and policies, developing & maintaining community networks, conducting research on constituent issues, and coordinating community meetings and events.
This role requires a proactive approach, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and technical proficiency are essential to succeed in this role.
