The location of this position is negotiable between either the Nathan, Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast.
This is a critical role that supports the South East Queensland Area, assisting the Project Managers and providing advice and expertise to management.

The purpose of the Assistant Project Manager is to support the project management and delivery of assigned civil infrastructure activities, such as construction, maintenance, rehabilitation and preconstruction projects. You will undertake estimating, tendering and bid management activities and provide operational management of civil construction works for roads and bridges.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Assist to project manage the delivery of assigned civil infrastructure projects and activities such as construction, maintenance, rehabilitation and preconstruction.
- In consultation with the Program Manager, prepare tender prices, provide expert specialist input and advice into the construction and maintenance processes, assisting with production rates, unit rates and local information.
- Assist to capture and share project outcomes and learnings, implement and foster best practice technology and project management methodologies across Transport and Main Roads.
- Maintain regular communication with relevant stakeholders on work availability and plan programming and prioritising requirements.
- On projects, plan, assign, direct, supervise and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff which will includes encouraging teamwork and fostering a positive attitude towards organisational objectives.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions
- Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
- Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent.
- You may be required to travel to other locations to undertake activities for varying periods of time. You will be entitled to expenses and allowances for such travel.
Desirable qualifications and conditions
- Certificate IV Civil Supervision
- Certificate IV Leadership and Management
- Certificate IV Project Management
- Technical knowledge of Traffic Management Design (TMD)
