  • Full time maximum term position up to 2 years (part-time considered)
  • Salary range: $98,902 - $123,624 (pro rata) plus super plus salary packaging
  • Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model

About the role
In this role you will establish and maintain the ethical frameworks, governance structures and people-centred procedures to guide AI development and usage. You will focus on capability-building training to promote AI literacy by developing guidelines and capability materials, ensuring responsible and compliant AI practices.

You will also be required to collaborate with the Data, Analytics and AI Steering Committee, as well as other stakeholders to align AI initiatives with VLA's values, foster trust and transparency and contribute to our strategic goals in ethical AI and application. You will also support the VLA Ethics and Human Rights Advisory Group (EHRAG) to ensure AI projects align with ethical standards and human rights.

This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.

About you
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Solid understanding of AI technologies and approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and delivery complex AI ethics and capability initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate ethical principles and influence decision makers and teams.
  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Ethics, Law, or a related field (mandatory).
