NBMLHD has an incredible opportunity to work in the role as Nurse Unit Manager Level 3, within the Dialysis Service. This is a Temporary Full time role until January 2026.
As a leader you are expected to support the organisation achieve the aims of the safety management system, to establish and maintain a positive health and safety culture in the workplace and to consult with workers and others when making decisions that may impact upon the health, safety and welfare of those in the workplace. The Nurse Unit Manager will facilitate collaborative teams in the delivery of patient/client care, attending unit/ward rounds with multidisciplinary team members where appropriate and leading discussions with Doctors, Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals.
Your role as the Nurse Unit Manager will facilitate a culture of enquiry and questioning that is based on evidence and best practice which aligns with policy and professional standards and will contribute to developing team capability and recognise potential in people. This will be achieved through performance management, talent development and training, appraisals, counselling and clinical supervision to ensure care provided is safe and appropriate and meets professional standards.

What you will bring to the role:
- Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) AND extensive relevant post registration nursing experience.
- Demonstrated ability to create and support a culture of integrity and professionalism which adheres to legislation and policy.
- Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills and ability to liaise and negotiate with clinicians, managers, staff and other key stakeholders.
- Proven ability to ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the unit/ward are managed to deliver safe and efficient health care within available resources.
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate, inspire and manage staff to achieve service and organizational goals utilising change management principles.
- Evidence of and commitment to patient/client/customer focused care, clinical governance and quality improvement.
- Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.
- Current Driver’s License and ability to travel within the LHD as required.
