The opportunity
We have three opportunities for Full Time Chefs / Cooks at our venue in Tumbi Umbi, Mingara Recreation Club, who can create great quality food in a high-volume kitchen. This role will see you working in a fast-paced, dynamic kitchen environment in our Roasted Berry café and Events Centre. Your vibrant personality and creative vision will translate directly to the plate, leaving our customers with sense of ‘WOW’. In this role, no two days will be the same. Whether you’re up and coming or had years of experience, you’ll acquire new skills and solutions to problems by thinking on your feet and working as part of a great team.
To succeed in this role, you’ll have:
- A friendly, energetic and upbeat personality with a "can-do" attitude
- Excellent technical skills and previous experience working in a fast paced café or restaurant
- Healthy and Safety mindset with high standards in safety, hygiene, and cleanliness
- Any eye for detail and a creative approach, with the desire to learn and grow.
- Flexible and adaptable nature as split shifts, nights, weekends, and public holidays will be required
- Current RSA & RCG certificates (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).

Cert 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery

- Food preparation
- Cooking both A La Carte and Buffet style menus
- Ensuring quality, consistency, and high standards
- Ensuring our team and customers are in a safe environment
- Ensuring Food Safety Standards are practiced.

You’ll receive a schedule of 38 hours per week which will be given 4 weeks in advance, averaging a yearly income $73, 000 - $77, 800.

Requirements
To be successful in this role you will need:
- A willingness to learn from a team of great chefs!
- Chefs are required to have completed an apprenticeship or Certificates 3 and 4 in Commercial Cookery with previous experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of food hygiene & workplace hygiene procedures (HACCP)
