About the role
Due to ongoing growth, Intertek is looking for Electrical, Mechanical, Coating & Welding inspectors based in Townsville & Mackay to perform adhoc technical inspections driven by adherence to project schedule. This role has ownership of servicing clients' needs relative to mining, oil and gas industry in line with Intertek policies and procedures, client quality codes/standards requirements. With great emphasis placed on accurate, and error free reporting, this role would ideally suit a process driven, self-managed technician, who prides themselves in their high attention to detail.
Qualifications for Electrical role
- Australian Electrical Contractor License (State specific)
- Electrical Trade Certificate
- Cert IV in Hazardous Areas
- Cert III in Instrumentation & Control (desirable)
Qualifications for Mechanical/Welding & Coating role
- Certified Coating NACE Level 2 or equivalent
- CSWIP 3.1 or CSWIP 3.2 or equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Performing adhoc inspection work within company, client, and regulatory standards, with accuracy, and in a manner which results in positive customer feedback.
- Ensuring that all work undertaken is carried out in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Prepare and issue progressive inspection reports and inspection release notes, ensuring that the deliverables produced comply with relevant regulations, codes and standards
- Ensuring Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards are maintained, and that all work areas are free from risk to persons, equipment, and the natural environment by identifying, assessing and controlling workplace hazards
- Assuming the face of Intertek in all company representative matters, to all Intertek clients, as well as other stakeholders
- Must be willing to travel to clients, manufacturers, suppliers and others as necessary, to perform or witness the requisite inspections
- Must be willing to undertake Client and Intertek online compliance training courses as required
Skills and experience
The essential requirements of this role include:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience of inspections in mining , oil and gas industries
- Demonstrated written and oral English language proficiency
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Experience in writing and delivering inspection reports of a professional standard
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills
- Must have rights to reside and work unrestricted within Australia
- Driver’s License
