To support us on this journey, we are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic specialist Junior School Teacher to join our dynamic team on a fixed term Maternity Leave Contract, commencing in Term 3.
Your role:
As a specialist language Teacher in our Junior School, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our students' educational journey as part of our vibrant foreign languages program. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and innovative Spanish lessons, fostering a positive classroom culture, and supporting the holistic development of each child.
Responsibilities Include:
- Implement, and deliver engaging learning and teaching programs that cater to the diverse needs and characteristics of our students, ensuring alignment with the relevant Spanish syllabi across the College.
- Build relationships and partnerships with students, parents, fellow staff and the wider community through the use of well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to modify learning and teaching programs to create productive learning environments that engage all students.
- Construct accurate, informative and timely reports to students and parents/carers about student learning and achievement.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Deal promptly and efficiently with requirements such as record keeping and the maintenance of student attendance and achievement information.
- Attend student assemblies, worship and other activities as required.
- Be a role model for students by modelling appropriate dress, language, behaviour and communication practices.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Willingness to be part of a well established and collaborative team.
- A demonstrated ability to apply the principles of inclusive teaching and learning, including the use of learning technologies and assessment, to create a supportive and challenging environment in which students are supported in achieving to their potential.
- Proven classroom management and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the diverse extracurricular program of the College.
- An active interest in and commitment to the education of our students.
- Ability to conduct oneself in a way which develops personal respect, respect for the College and the teaching profession.
Essential Qualifications:
- Current Queensland College of Teacher Registration
- Degree/Diploma qualifications relevant to the position
- Fluency in Spanish
