Are you passionate about gardening and making a positive impact in your community?St Marks in Wheller Gardens Aged Care Community at Chermside is seeking a gardening volunteer to help maintain the outdoor gardens and a variety of indoor plants.
These activities assist residents with socialising, promoting a sense of well-being and encouraging community connectedness. Most importantly they bring joy and create smiles!
The Gardening Volunteer can help residents by:
* Watering the gardens and indoor plants.
* Weeding and fertilising.
* Planting and re-potting.
* Having fun and bringing joy to residents who will delight in the beautiful gardens.
* Communicating resident feedback to staff to assist in improving both the
activity and resident enjoyment.
This role is suitable for people who have well developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills and display a calm and empathetic manner when engaging with residents. Volunteering is a wonderful way to make a difference in the lives of our senior residents while making friends, having fun and learning new skills.
This role offers flexible volunteering hours, once or twice a week, based on your availability.
This program is located within the Wheller Gardens Aged Care Community where the residents enjoy a wonderful sense of life, fun, and friendship.

All our volunteers follow a COVID-19 safe work plan and provide proof they have received a minimum of one primary COVID-19 vaccination before they are registered in their role.
Volunteers will also be required to have a current NDIS Workers Screening Clearance prior to commencement. This can be applied for through Wesley Mission Queensland at no cost to you.
