THE OPPORTUNITY
Mt St Michael's College is a Catholic girls' school of 900 students (Years 5 - 12) situated in the leafy avenues of Ashgrove, 5 kms from the CBD. The College maintains a tradition of academic excellence, extensive co-curricular activities, and student wellbeing programs across the College.
Mt St Michael's College seeks applications for an innovative and dynamic Teacher Librarian who will enthusiastically engage with the educational vision and mission of the College. This position is a full-time, permanent role and has become available due to the retirement of a staff member.
The Teacher Librarian is a Middle Leader position responsible for ensuring that high quality educational outcomes and services are enhanced by creating and maintaining a vibrant learning environment that supports information literacy, research and scholarship utilising contemporary learning platforms.
This role will support students in Years 5 - 12 and as the role will have a teaching component, the role holder should possess both teaching and library qualifications.

THE SELECTION CRITERIA
SC1 An understanding of and commitment to the aims of Catholic Education and the mission, vision and values of Mt St Michael’s College.
SC2 Demonstrated practices that promote, model and teach the use of library databases for research purposes.
SC3 Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Library Management Systems.
SC4 Demonstrated excellence in teaching with extensive knowledge of contemporary pedagogies as they relate to the education of girls.
SC5 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with students and staff within a high-performing College culture.
