Position Purpose

The main objective of this role is to manage a work site/s in which Advanced Buildings are the principal contractor ensuring WH&S obligations are always adhered to, KPI requirements are met, and the jobs are completed within budget.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Interact with internal/external stakeholders and clients in a manner beneficial to the company.

  • Develop relationships with clients to secure ongoing opportunities and pursue new opportunities as they present.

  • Engage, coordinate, and manage trades during the repair process.

  • Maintain good records on a computer-based work system.

  • Determine a works program and strive to achieve completion within the require time frame and within budget.

  • Achieve a high Quality of finish to the building works.

  • Communicate and negotiate with trades.

  • Communicate clearly and regularly with both internal and external stakeholders

  • Coordinate access to properties with owners.

  • Adhere to project specific requirements and execute project specific duties as required.

  • Resolve disputes as required.

  • Manage WH&S matters in keeping with legislative, contractual and company requirements.

  • Obtain and record all necessary final certificates from trades, engineers and certifiers as required.

  • Obtain final signoff documents from owners at completion Manage all work matters in the best interests of the company in a professional manner.

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures as directed

  • Financial Control of sites, including monthly invoicing of Progress Claims, Final Invoices, Reports.

Safety Responsibilities

Long distance driving, sedentary work – majority chair and desk work in an ergonomic setting, motor vehicle driving of up to 2 hours within the state, ability to participate in complex high pressure situations such as work place incidents and customer dispute resolutions dealings, ability to wear safety rated steel capped shoes, ability to administer first aid, ability to participate in complex high pressure situations such as work place incidents and customer dispute dealings, work at heights, tape measure, operate light equipment, ladders, use of ladders including storage of ladders on roof racks. Bending, standing, sitting, squatting, reaching, bending, push and pull, EWP, lifting capabilities when required, machinery which requires a high level of concentration and alertness, use of power tools.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

A tertiary qualification and/or equivalent combination of relevant training and experience

Essential skills and experience for this position:

• Knowledge of building codes

• Previous experience in a similar position/ trade background

• Ability to work autonomously

• Motivated for position and goals

• Risk assessment analysis experience

• Experience with WH&S and legislative requirements

• Management of sub-contractors

• Must be prepared to travel where necessary

• A current Drivers License

• Excellent ‘people’ skills

• Must be able to problem solve, be an analytical and strategic thinker and be a great communicator

• A professional appearance and good phone manner

• Competent PC skills including Excel, Word, and Email

• Financial invoicing of progress claims and accounts control of site(s) expenditure

• The ability to produce written reports when required

• A 'can do’ energetic attitude and action-oriented approach

• Excellent organizational skills

• A strong work ethic and to be able think ahead

• A team focus and thrive in a team environment

Desirable Skills

• Construction experience, residential and commercial

• Working Knowledge of Department of Education building works.

• Working knowledge of the Insurance building industry

• Carpentry Trade Qualification

• Building/Supervision Qualification
