Description:

The Department of Health (DOH) is seeking an experienced leader for the role of Executive Director, Office of the Secretary (OTS).

This is a key senior executive position responsible for leading and delivering services and outcomes within the OTS that have critical strategic importance and benefit to the Agency and Tasmanian community.

The Role

The Executive Director, Office of the Secretary is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the functions of OTS including legal services; strategic communications; governance; complaints management and oversight; Commission of Inquiry response and reform; and support services to the Portfolio Ministers and the Secretary.

The position reports to the Secretary, and as a senior leader this role champions and contributes to the delivery of other strategic initiatives including our Long-Term Plan for Healthcare in Tasmania 2040.

Appointment Details

The position is offered as a 5-year contract with an attractive remuneration package, including a salary range between $183,884 and $202,163 p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline which may include health administration, law or public policy.
  • Extensive experience in the operations of government.
