About the role
We are seeking an experienced Cook/Commis Chef to join our team at Pikes' in the beautiful Clare Valley, South Australia. This full-time role is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the culinary excellence of our renowned restaurant, with a particular focus on our Garden Menu. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will play a pivotal role in creating our garden menu that showcases the best of regional produce.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing high-quality meals to our exacting standards using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients
- Collaborating with the Head Chef to develop innovative seasonal menus that delight our guests
- Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment
- Ensuring all food safety and hygiene protocols are strictly adhered to
- Providing guidance and mentorship to junior members of the kitchen team
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of kitchen operations and processes
What we're looking for
- A formal qualification is not essential, however proven experience cooking in a fast-paced kitchen environment is a must
- Strong cooking skills and a passion for creating exceptional dishes
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and commitment to maintaining the highest hygiene standards
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with kitchen and tap room staff
We may ask you to come in and demonstrate your skills during a trial in our Kitchen.
