As part of our trade counter crew, you'll be the go-to for customers, making sure they get exactly what they need while bringing a bit of personality to the job.

Overall Role and Responsibilities:

As a member of our Customer Experience team at Bone Timber, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and generating sales revenue through the effective handling of customer inquiries, order processing, and upselling of products. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Customer Service and Sales:

  • Provide excellent customer service to all customers, both in-person, via email and over the phone.

  • Respond to customer enquiries, process orders, and provide product information and advice.

  • Upsell products and services to increase sales revenue and profitability.

  • Handle customer complaints and escalate issues to management as necessary.

Product Knowledge and Merchandising:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the company's product offerings and pricing.

  • Assist with merchandising and product displays to ensure a visually appealing and organized store.

  • Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure accurate stock levels and minimize stock losses.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety and compliance regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following proper safety procedures.

  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including cash handling and inventory management.

Teamwork and Communication:

  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure excellent customer service and sales performance.

  • Communicate effectively with other departments, including warehouse and delivery, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of team goals and strategies.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in retail or customer service required but not essential.

  • Strong customer service/sales and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints.

  • Knowledge of building materials and construction products .

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order processing and inventory management.

  • Checking off Inwards goods.

  • Picking packing orders.

  • Daily Banking.

  • Showroom presentation.

Performance Metrics:

  • Achievement of sales targets and revenue goals.

  • Excellent customer service feedback and satisfaction ratings.

  • Accuracy and efficiency in order processing and inventory management.

  • Compliance with safety and compliance regulations.

  • Contribution to team goals and strategies.
