Primary objective
The Juno Centre Training Coordinator works alongside schools, industry partners and other stakeholders providing a central point
of coordination for training and other activities that occur at Juno Centre.
This role is responsible for the coordination of Juno Centre activities including managing the Vocational Education and Training
(VET) for secondary school back to base programs and facilitating industry partnerships and pathways for students to successfully
complete the Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET) and / or, transition to further education, training,
or employment.
Context statement
The Juno Centre is a 250-hectare training facility based 10km east of Tennant Creek. Juno Centre is an operational farm set up to
simulate real agricultural operations, such as livestock management and agrifood production. Juno Centre has appropriate facilities
to host the delivery of VET programs in various industry fields as well as providing other educational and research opportunities
for students in tropical agriculture, horticulture and aquaculture. The Juno Centre has residential blocks for students, staff and
visitor accommodation facilities available.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Work with schools, Non-Government Organisations, Registered Training Organisations (RTO’s) and community and industry
groups to implement a service delivery model that is best practice for the targeted client cohort.
2. Support urban and remote schools in developing future pathways for students, developing and leading associated projects.
3. Coordinate relevant VET courses, maximising participation by remote schools, to enhance the skills of young people and provide
hands on support to ensure successful delivery.
4. Provide leadership and support to Juno team trainers as needed to ensure the delivery of quality and compliant VET training,
coordinating appropriate compliance activities and managing resourcing.
5. Coordinate the delivery of career and transition services, including the facilitation of work experience, overseeing team activities
in this space.
6. In partnership with the Farm Manager, create and maintain policies and procedures for Juno Centre to ensure the safe and
sustainable operations of the center.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain effective networks and collaborative partnerships with a
range of internal and external stakeholders.
2. A proven ability to work within a cross cultural environment and ability to implement culturally appropriate programs.
3. Demonstrated experience in coordinating VET programs and an operational knowledge of documents and compliance
requirements of RTOs.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of departmental and school protocols and procedures regarding work experience, vocational
education, school-based apprenticeships/traineeships and transitioning students into employment or further training.
5. Events management experience and /or demonstrated experience in coordinating large group activities.
6. Experience in a range of office administration functions including records management, procurement, data entry and accounts.
Desirable
1. Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or related qualification

This role may necessitate travel by 4WD vehicle or in light aircraft and include overnight stays in remote communities. This position
requires a current NT Working with Children Notice (Ochre Card), driver’s licence or the ability to obtain.
