Established in 1982, Alzheimer’s WA provides care, support, awareness and information to assist people living with dementia, as well as their families and carers.
Our services include advocacy, education, partnerships, training, consultancy and holistic person-centred care programs, based on a philosophy of understanding the lived experiences of those living with dementia. We provide CHSP, HCP and NDIS packages and day/overnight respite in our four homes based in Perth, Mandurah and Albany.

Position Summary:
As the Finance and Operational Performance Manager, you will play a crucial role in the oversight of Alzheimer's WA's finance function by the efficient delivery of the organisation's financial obligations. This position provides high-level accounting and financial management services, including statutory accounts preparation, transaction processing, data analysis, and taxation compliance. Adherence with financial policies, legal requirements, and financial reporting standards is paramount, as is providing technical accounting assistance to the team and broader organisation. The position will be based out of our head office in Subiaco.
Key Responsibilities:
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Accounting and Finance:
  • Manage the preparation and timely completion of the monthly financial accounts and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Develop and maintain finance policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely submission of monthly Business Activity Statements and Annual FBT and Withholding Tax Returns.
  • Oversee maintenance of Fixed Assets Register.
  • Act as the point of contact for external auditors, including preparation of interim and year-end auditing files.
  • Provide support and guidance to the Finance team
Reporting:
  • Produce Management Reports for the Board, including variance analysis.
  • Generate funding program acquittal and budget reports.
  • Collaborate on Annual Financial Reports and meet auditing requirements.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports and provide financial analysis for informed decision-making.
  • Mentor and develop an understanding of departmental financial performance within the Management team.
Business Process Improvement and Risk Management:
  • Develop and document efficient business processes and finance procedures.
  • Identify process weaknesses and recommend improvements, mitigating operational and business risk.
  • Document processes using flowcharts and establish internal policies.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Finance to implement risk-mitigation strategies.
  • Manage annual operational plans of Business Units to drive profitability and awareness while ensuring compliance.
  • Contribute to the organisation's development, maintain statistics, and engage in strategic management.
System Management:
  • Lead the implementation and optimisation of financial and operational systems to enhance performance.
  • Ensure system integration across departments for seamless data flow and operational efficiency.
  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions for process automation and reporting.
  • Oversee system training and support for the finance team, ensuring strong system navigation skills.
  • Monitor system functionality and collaborate with IT and vendors to address technical issues.
  • Evaluate and drive improvements to existing systems, enhancing user experience and organisational outcomes.
Essential Criteria:
  • Qualified Financial Professional with either CA or CPA designation
  • Proven experience in financial accounting and reporting, budget preparation.
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in use of financial software and Microsoft suite.
  • Effective team player with exceptional time management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Commitment to a value-based organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder relationship management.
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • WA ‘C’ class driver’s licence
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • COVID Vaccination (three doses)
Desirable Criteria:
  • Previous experience in aged care and not-for-profit financial management.
  • Previous experience in Financial / ERP / CRM system implementation
