About the role
The Team Leader Ticketing Finance manages the financial policies and processes of public transport ticketing systems for Transperth, Regional, and School Bus Services, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and financial regulations. The role provides strategic and operational advice, offering financial analysis and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the ticketing revenue team. Responsibilities include leading staff, planning workloads, managing complex customer queries, conducting performance appraisals, and delivering training and mentorship to ensure effective account reconciliations. Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships is also a key aspect, with a focus on upholding the PTA’s reputation through effective communication and problem resolution.
Additionally, the position ensures compliance with financial governance by monitoring refunds, auditing adjustments, and implementing fraud prevention measures. The Team Leader reviews and approves monthly reconciliations, ensures correct GST application, and recommends operational improvements. They supervise financial operations within ticketing systems, oversee platform access controls, and manage reimbursements for incorrect charges. Collaborating with the Finance Manager, the role supports financial integrity, contributes to business improvement initiatives, and aids in the development of divisional strategies.
About You!
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Tertiary qualification, or significant experience, in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business, with extensive experience in ticketing system databases and financial account reconciliation. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and financial policies.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in mentoring, coaching, and developing team members to achieve operational goals.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work autonomously or collaboratively to support team objectives.
- Strong conceptual and analytical abilities, with experience in resolving complex accounting or ticketing issues within deadlines and financial constraints.
