About the Role
As the General Manager , you will oversee all aspects of branch operations, ensuring profitability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. You?ll act as the principal representative of the branch, managing people, processes, and financial performance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor the branch operating budget, including P&L accountability, GP margins, productivity, labor costs, and CAPEX/OPEX control
- Analyze financial KPIs to ensure positive EBITDA results and drive continuous improvements in financial and operational performance
- Prepare accurate monthly and quarterly reports on branch performance and development plans
- Oversee warehouse and transport operations, including pallet control, cycle warehousing, delivery performance, logistics optimization, and contractor management
- Improve processes related to stock control, pricing, procurement, and quality assurance systems
- Ensure efficient workflow layouts and reduce operational expenses
- Deliver outstanding service to corporate clients and meet all contract KPIs
- Continuously improve inbound and outbound sales targets, online conversion rates, and service delivery to meet industry best practices
- Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance
- Effectively manage overtime, absenteeism, turnover, and timekeeping systems to optimize workforce productivity and revenue per FTE
- Ensure compliance with HACCP certification standards, OH&S policies, and regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular site maintenance, housekeeping, and emergency evacuation drills to maintain a safe and efficient workplace
- Oversee project plans and ensure timely completion within budget
What We?re Looking For
- A Bachelor?s degree in Business, Commerce, or equivalent, or 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Proven experience in general/branch management within food services, FMCG, or similar fast-paced industries.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing budgets, achieving KPIs, and applying business and financial principles.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills and prior exposure to HACCP and OH&S compliance.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of building high-performance teams and fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and experience in project management.
