About the Role: -
An opportunity for assertive Youth Workers to join our committed and passionate team at the high energy space Altone drop-in youth centre on a casual basis.
Specifics of the role: -
- Have the skills and capacity to build relationships with young people who attend the drop in service
- Actively engage with young people within various spaces and rooms, managing group dynamics and individual behaviours.
- Facilitating small group activities and supervising young people.
- Ensuring the space is set up and packed away following procedures and supporting team members.
- Provide trauma-informed and person-centred support to young people who present with various support needs.
- Have cultural competency and experience working with young people from diverse backgroundsincluding First Nations, CaLD and LGBTIQ.
What you will need
- Qualifications in youth work, or related fields
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Proven capacity to work independently and in group settings
- Current Working with Children Card
- Current First Aid HLTAID003, or willingness to obtain.
- A Nationally Police Check obtained in last 3 months
