About the Role
We are currently seeking a HSE / Safety Advisor with extensive experience (3+ operational years) in a similar role, you are passionate about delivering quality outcomes across your remit, display & champion a continuous improvement mindset, possessing great people & leadership skills, along with an excellent attention to detail.

A Certificate IV or Tertiary Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety.

A Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, along with a Lead Auditor Qualification would be highly regarded.

Significant experience in work health & safety, including experience in senior or leadership roles within shutdown & contracting works on mine sites, ideally in Incident & injury management.

Demonstrated experience in health and safety systems auditing and maintenance of IMS ISO / FSC accreditations

Strong computer literacy across the Microsoft Office Suite, as well as relevant safety & database management systems & sound proficiency using SAI360 action and incident management application including reporting function.

You have the ability to interpret and effectively apply the Work Health & Safety Act and Regulations in both general and mining operations.

Proven ability to deliver results and lead a team in delivering a high level of customer support.

Excellent verbal & written communication skills, with the ability to engage with & build strong working relationships with relevant stakeholders, as well as train & mentor with respect to data management systems & products.

Possess strong analytical, critical thinking & problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure & think on your feet.

You are well organised with a keen attention to detail, and strong time management skills.

Flexible & adaptable to changing priorities, you multitask & prioritise effectively and are comfortable working in a dynamic & outcome focused environment.

Key Responsibilities include:
-
Ensure compliance with the company's Health and Safety Management System (HSMS) across Geraldton operations, ensuring alignment with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, site-specific health and safety standards

Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of critical risk management framework, ensuring critical risk controls identified, assessed, and controlled effectively.

Drive initiatives to reduce exposure to principal mining and workshop hazards and ensure the systems are robust and fit for purpose.

Collaborate with operational teams to ensure initiatives and risk mitigation strategies are implemented and adhered to.

Review the effectiveness of risk controls, with a focus on preventing incidents and mitigating potential hazards across the operation.

Ensure adherence to the HSMS and maintain alignment with all corporate health and safety requisites.
