In addition to machine manufacturing, HBT also manufactures high-quality OE parts and provides world-class support services for their equipment to ensure their customers succeed.

This position is across 2 locations:

HBT Waratah located at Argenton, Newcastle NSW, this facility is responsible for the overhauls of HBT Australia longwall machinery, HBT Waratah OEM Development Equipment, and general mining equipment overhauls.

Pempek located in Castle Hill, Sydney NSW, is a global leader in equipment control, telemetry, hydraulic control, and roof bolting solutions for mining and underground construction applications. Their product ranges include software control environments, PLC Controllers, Motor Controllers, Electronic Over Hydraulic Control, Remote Controllers, Telemetry Systems and Human-Machine interfaces, Roof Bolting Automation, Heavy-Duty Contactors, and other flameproof products for explosive and hazardous area applications. Recent developments include class leading Telemetry & Analytics productivity enhancement systems and new robotic, tele remote, anti-collision and autonomous navigation systems.

Position purpose:

The Sales Manager is responsible for achieving sales targets and driving business growth. They develop sales strategies, oversee sales operations, and motivate team members to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:

The Sales Manager will be responsible to:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Identify market opportunities and trends to optimize sales efforts.
  • Sales forecasting, costing and planning.
  • Work scope development and review of contract technical specifications.
  • Monitor sales activities, pipelines, and performance metrics to track progress.
  • Analyse sales data and trends to identify areas for improvement and growth.
  • Implement sales processes and tools to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and accounts.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and escalations in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • After sales project assistance
  • Identify and pursue strategic partnerships and alliances to expand market reach and revenue opportunities.
  • Negotiate and manage partnerships with suppliers, distributors, and other external stakeholders.
  • Leverage networking opportunities to cultivate new business relationships and opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends and competitive landscape.
  • Identify emerging market opportunities and potential threats to inform sales strategies.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on market intelligence.
  • Ensure Sales are compliant to the relevant standards and regulations as set out by government authorities and customer requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sales management, with a track record of driving results.
  • Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective sales strategies.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in sales data analysis and reporting.
  • Customer-focused approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and other sales tools and technologies.
