Key Responsibilities
Menu Development: Assist, create and execute menus that celebrate both traditional
and contemporary Greek dishes, ensuring they meet the highest standards of
food quality and presentation.
Kitchen Management: Assist, lead, manage, and coordinate kitchen staff and all
food preparation activities, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation in a
clean and organized kitchen environment.
Food Safety & Sanitation : Strictly adhere to food safety and sanitation
guidelines, maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen.
Inventory & Cost Control : Assist, oversee inventory management, control food
costs, and ensure the efficient use of resources.
Collaborative Planning : Assist and work closely with restaurant management to plan and execute special events and promotions, bringing creative and exciting ideas
to the table.
Staff Training : Assist, train and mentor junior kitchen staff, focusing on Greek culinary
techniques, recipes, and overall kitchen best practices.
Innovation : Stay current with industry trends, incorporating new techniques
and ingredients to keep the menu fresh and engaging.
Customer Feedback : Monitor and evaluate customer feedback to
continuously refine and improve menu offerings.
Service Efficiency : Ensure timely and efficient service, particularly during peak
dining hours.
Recipe Development : Assist to create and test new recipes regularly to keep the menu
dynamic and appealing.
Supplier Relations : Build strong relationships with suppliers to source the
highest quality ingredients.
Comprehensive Kitchen Management : Assist in handling all aspects of kitchen
operations, including cost control, menu costing, pricing margins, staff costs,
rostering, ordering, and conducting monthly stock takes.
Compliance : Ensure the kitchen complies with all health and safety
regulations at all times.
Qualifications
Qualification in Hospitality Management/Commercial Cookery.
2 years experience, Greek cuisine preferred.
Proven experience in a high-volume kitchen.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Ability to innovate while maintaining consistency in quality.
Excellent understanding of cost control and kitchen operations.
Passion for culinary arts and a keen eye for detail.
Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety
