The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for a Research Support Officer to be part of the South Australian Research and Development Institute within the Department of Primary Industries and Regions.

The primary purpose of the role is to provide comprehensive administrative, business and governance support services to management and staff at the Minnipa Agricultural Centre.

The Research Support Officer provides an administrative service to Minnipa Farm and Research staff as required. Key duties include overseeing records management procedures, purchasing card procedures and approvals, ICT management, building and asset management, travel bookings, employee housing support, HR support, management of the Work, Health and Safety system including the maintenance of the Site Safety Management Plan and chemical recording system, invoice processing, miscellaneous expenses and raising purchase orders through Basware NG, generating invoices through SIS, sales processing, monthly vehicle and fuel management and monitoring the Minnipa budget.

Support is given to organizing events such as Field Days, meetings and workshops. General administrative tasks for research and farm staff include preparing Agendas and Minutes for various staff meetings, ordering of stationery and office supplies, collection and distribution of mail and courier deliveries, managing the switchboard and email enquiries, and general front counter Reception duties.

The Research Support Officer has the key responsibility of ensuring administrative services are managed in a manner that is efficient and at the same time portrays a friendly and professional environment.

Requirements

  • Possession of a current driver’s licence and willingness to drive.
  • Out of hours work and inter / intrastate travel may be required.
  • Australian residency or current works permit is required (responsibility of applicant to provide evidence of a current work permit).
  • You acknowledge your work, health and safety obligations and our expectations when applying for a role.
  • The incumbent will be required to undertake emergency management training and must be willing to participate in emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities required by government agencies.

Remuneration

ASO2 - $58,709 min - $63,154 max per annum, plus superannuation
