About the role
SACA is looking for an experienced Physiotherapist to join our High-Performance team. You will manage the SACA Senior Women's Physiotherapy Program to ensure best practice physiotherapy service provision and direction in alignment with SACA and Cricket Australia objectives. To assist on an occasional basis as required and agreed in consultation with the SSSM Manager with Women's Second XI, Women's Pathway Programs or Men's Cricket programs
Key responsibilities:
Level and Scope of Servicing
The scope of the cricket players and staff for which the employee will provide the physiotherapy services includes (collectively, the Players ):
· SACA contracted female players, including Cricket Australia contracted players based in SA, and WBBL Adelaide contracted players;
· Other relevant players who may be selected for Women's State Representative teams;
· Players playing in State Association or Cricket Australia development squads (including but not limited to players participating in State 2nd XI teams, Australia "A" teams, any "CA XI" teams
· Junior Pathway players in conjunction with the pathway program physiotherapist and medical staff;
The Physiotherapist must provide physiotherapy services when directed for the Players in the below matches/competitions.
· Women's WNCL matches
· Adelaide Strikers WBBL matches
· Women's 2nd XI matches
· State Association practice matches; and
the following additional locations:
· All State Association training sessions;
· The State Association Headquarters as required and reasonable;
· Training camps and interstate tours for the above teams;
· State Association SSSM or HP Meetings; and
· Any reasonable location at the direction of the State Association.
The Services to be provided by Physiotherapist
The Physiotherapist will provide the following services for the Players:

  • Conducting comprehensive injury assessments.
  • In collaboration with the Physical Performance Lead prepare individualised injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation programs
  • Preparing individualised injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation programs, including but not limited to:
  • Continuously updating, monitoring and acting on Player workload data via the Athlete Management System ( AMS ).
  • Conducting annual physiotherapy screenings as per the Australian Cricket SSSM Performance Measures ( SSSM PM ) schedule.
  • Preparing and submitting injury reports to key SACA stakeholders as required.
  • Attending case management meetings with State Association, Australian Cricket and Cricket Australia SSSM and High Performance staff as required.
  • Maintaining all required communication and adequate consultation notes through the AMS

Other responsibilities:
· Medications and Supplements:
o The Physiotherapist must not provide Players with prescription medications without the permission (verbal or written) of the State Medical Officer or other appropriately qualified medical practitioner; and
o The Physiotherapist must not provide Players with any supplements unless directed to by the State Association Dietitian or Medical Officer.
· Codes and Policies ;
o The Physiotherapist must at all times adhere to the following codes and policies;
§ CA Anti-Doping Code,
§ Illicit Substances Rule,
§ CA Anti-Corruption Code,
§ CA Code of Behaviour,
§ the CA Concussion and Head Trauma Policy and;
§ the Australian Cricket SSSM Principles and the Policies contained therein, namely:
· Staff Integrity Requirements
· Medications and Treatments Policy
· Injections Policy
· Australian Cricket Supplements Policy
o The Physiotherapist must conduct themselves in a professional and objectively ethical manner (and in accordance with professional registration requirements) at all times.
· Administration duties include;
o In relation to the AMS, the Physiotherapist must:
§ use the AMS to properly record the detail of every Player consultation strictly within 48 hours of consultation
§ maintain accurate Records of all medications dispensed to Players via the medications tab (and at all times subject to the requirements below regarding medications and supplements and the Australian Cricket SSSM Principles).
o Without limiting any other provision of this document, The Physiotherapist must provide the following reports:
§ national injury surveillance updates as requested; and
§ detailed correspondence as required for insurance reports.
o The Physiotherapist must provide ancillary administration services associated with the provision of the above services (i.e. preparation, resource development, meetings with State Association staff, etc.)
o Professional Registration and continual professional development:

  • Professional Development
  • At a minimum must maintain professional development to comply with the professional association and registration requirements

o The Physiotherapist must maintain any necessary professional qualifications and registrations, as well as undertaking and completing any necessary continual professional development programs.
o Participation in any Player education sessions arranged by Cricket Australia or the State Association.
· Equipment:
o In conjunction with the SSSM manager, order and maintain adequate physiotherapy and rehabilitation equipment supplies, both at the SACA Headquarters and in kits for touring with teams.
· Personnel:
o provide guidance and supervision of any direct reports
o provide guidance and supervision of any students that the SACA agrees to involve
· You will hold a valid Working with Children Check or have the ability to obtain one.
Key Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
· Masters level Degree in Sports / Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy
· First Aid / CPR Qualification
· At least 5 years of Sports Physiotherapy experience with elite athletes / teams
Highly Desirable Qualifications
· Titled Sports / Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Qualifications
· Advanced Resuscitation Qualifications
· Research experience and publication
