Operations Support Manager

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join the well-established, our team in Chinchilla. While overseeing all our project operations, the ideal candidate for this role will have the capability to hit the ground running and lead a strong team to success.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective leadership and development opportunities to the operation staff, line managers and superintendents
- Manage the compliance of health, safety and environmental obligations and requirements
- Manage the compliance of all customers, quality assurance and documentation and procedural requirements
- Manage cost effective strategies to ensure that contractual requirements are met, and business development targets are achieved
- Offer productive training, development & guidance to work crews
- Oversee completion of driver inductions and that they are conducted effectively. Permits and licenses are valid and maintained, total adherence to site and road regulations.
- Ensure that team member’s accountabilities and responsibilities are understood, and employees are delivering to expectation.
Qualification & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing and developing employees, ideally gained in a ports, logistics or heavy industry environment
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the and associated systems, ensuring compliance with the Operations and Maintenance Agreement.
- Manage a team of operators, technical staff, and contractors, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and quality regulations and Veolia's Always Safe Charter.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and identify opportunities for cost optimisation and process improvement.
- Coordinate with key stakeholders, and representatives, to ensure seamless operations and maintain strong relationships.
- Lead and direct emergency response activities as required.
- Oversee maintenance activities, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
- Prepare regular reports on plant performance, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Manage asset integrity and contribute to the continuous improvement of plant operations.

- Current Unrestricted QLD Driver’s License.
- Trade Certificate & QLD Electrical Licence.
- Current CPR/LVR Training.
- Construction Induction Card.
- Current Personal and Professional References.
Advantageous certifications:
- Current working at heights.
- Current EEHA (within 5 years)
- Licence to preform high risk work (EWP).
- Current First Aid.
