Description:
- Complex geology and structure - a Geo dream!
- Attractive 8/6 Perth FIFO opportunity
- Strong technical team - supportive & experienced team, significant career opportunity
The Big Attraction:
Joining the team as an experienced and ambitious Mine Geologist - Open Pits , you will be part of a small but highly professional, supportive and experienced geological team and will have the ability to utilise your highly attuned technical geological skills and experiences in their open pit operations, projects and potentially upcoming projects. Being a small team, this means great autonomy and a dynamic role!
You will gain significant exposure to all aspects of mine geology, including input to company mineral resource estimation processes, reconciliations and reporting.
Even if we went back 11-12 years in the Delorean with Marty McFly and there were 10 Mine Geologist roles up for grabs and you couldn’t choose which one to take – I’d say this one! An attractive role with an attractive mob & complex historical geological setting that'll provide a technical challenge and learning curve! This “should” make you more excited than a dog in a hubcap factory!
The Blurb:
Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologist, undertake development and production duties to facilitate the optimal production of ore from the open pit mining operations through the consistent achievement of daily, weekly and monthly goals and ensuring that personal targets are fully aligned with the operational goals. Key duties will include but are not limited to the following:
The Nitty Gritty:
- Interact with the pit work crews and broader mining team on a daily basis to ensure that daily work activities adhere to the mining forecast plan.
- Map all pit floor & walls for lithology and structural elements for optimal pit design. Coordinate pickups with the Survey Team and ensure mapping is completed.
- Ensure all sampling data is up to date and validated in the database, i.e. collars, assays, geology.
- Provide small scale structural interpretations through the identification and mapping of structures and the correlation with observations in drilling and relevant mining data.
- Generate tonnes and grades reporting on a daily basis using site systems and deliver on all other reporting requirements.
- Communicate daily ore production information in a timely and accurate manner to the Mining Department and the Open Pit Mining Contractor.
- Provide core logging assistance as required by the needs of the team.
About you:
- A tertiary qualification in Geology or a related discipline that #TotesDigsROCKS!

- Solid software experience preferred and Leapfrog, Datamine (would be handy, but not a deal breaker)
- Proven results in exceeding targets autonomously.
- High level communication skills both verbal and written.
