Maritime Career Training is Australia's largest provider of AMSA approved Certificate of Safety Training. We also offer AMSA approved refresher training for Deck and Engineering Officers.
The Maritime Teacher will deliver practical fire training utilising our recently upgraded fire training ship simulation facility at Kulangoor. Fire theory is delivered online and in our dedicated fire training classroom.
Additional fire training is provided utilising our separate virtual reality training suite.
Personal Survival Techniques theory is delivered online and in our sea survival training classroom and practical training is delivered at the nearby Nambour Aquatic Centre.
The Maritime Career Training Centre is located in a rural setting and comprises nearly 9,000 sq metres of land and 1,000 sq metres of classroom space. Our bitumen car park provides 74 car parking spaces.
Our ideal candidate is a great communicator, holds a current Cert IV in Workplace Training and Assessment or is willing to undergo training for this qualification in the near future and holds or has held one of the following qualifications:
- STCW Reg II/1 or III/1 certificate of competency
- Engineer class 3 near coastal and AMSA Certificate of safety training
- Master less than 100 metres near coastal and AMSA Certificate of safety training
- Chief integrated rating (STCW Reg II/5 and III/5)
- Integrated rating (STCW Reg II/5 and III/5)
- Able seafarer—deck (STCW Reg II/5)
- Able seafarer—engine (STCW Reg III/5)

This is a well paid, part time casual position working 2 to 4 days per week to start.
