An exciting and rewarding opportunity is available for a suitably qualified candidate to join the Perioperative team at Portland District Health.

The primary role is to facilitate safe and efficient passage of surgical patients through the Operating Rooms during the perioperative period by performing all Theatre Technician duties promptly and efficiently.

About you:

  • Minimum of completed Certificate III Health Service Assistance (HLT33115) or equivalent, or

willingness to obtain

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team
  • Able to communicate effectively with Senior Nursing Staff, Anaesthetists/Surgeons and Surgical Staff.
  • Capacity to work in accordance with compliance requirements, PDH Policy and Procedures and to follow workplace directions
  • Demonstrated capacity to follow written technical instructions and operate specialised equipment
  • Understanding of expectation to comply with Australian Standards, Infection Control Procedures and other operational requirements to ensure a safe working environment
