Job summary
BJ Disability and Support Services looking for experienced, reliable, and empathetic Support Workers (Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and surrounding areas) who want to make a difference by supporting our participants in achieving their goals and living their best life.
The role may involve:
· Assistance with community access and recreational activities
· Personal care (showering, toileting, and personal hygiene assistance)
· Manual handling and/or the use of equipment to support mobility (wheelchairs or hoists)
· Transportation and social engagement
· Light domestic duties such as meal preparation and cleaning
· Behavioural and Mental Health Support
Essential criteria
· Minimum Certificate III Aged Care and/or Certificate in Disability
· Hands on experience in manual handling
· An understanding of the disability/community services sector and person-centred support
· Transferable life/work skills along with a caring and compassionate approach
· A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle
· NDIS Worker Screening Check
· The legal right to work in Australia
· Excellent communication skills
· A genuine interest in the wellbeing & inclusion of people with disabilities
· Current Working with Children check.
· Sound computer skills.
Desirable
· Smartphone/ computer to use relevant applications
Job Types: Part-time, Casual
Pay: $38.00 – $70.00 per hour
Supplementary Pay:

- First Aid Certification (Preferred)
- Working with Children Check (Preferred)
- National Police Certificate (Preferred)
- Driver Licence (Required)
