Description:
We currently have a vacancy for an experienced interstate Long Distance Truck Driver (Interstate). This is a job that's interesting, exciting, and different every day as you drive our well-maintained trucks to different sites.
You'll be providing excellent transport services to our customers and maintaining our health and safety standards.
What you'll be doing in this job
- Driving vehicles to transport materials (interstate/long distance)
- Inspecting and maintaining vehicle supplies and equipment such as diesel, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes to ensure that the vehicle is in a proper and safe working condition
- Maintaining records such as work diary, cargo consignment notes, and obtain proof of delivery for every delivery
- Using and maintaining tools and equipment found on commercial vehicles such as weighing and measuring devices and restraint equipment
- Checking the load corresponds with the paperwork and recording breakage or damage
- Making sure the load is correctly loaded and secured by the appropriate equipment when loading or before departing depot
- Calculating and estimating the weight of loads to comply with load limits
- Coupling and uncoupling trailers.
There'll be work on weekends and public holidays.
About you
Here are the skills and qualifications you'll need to be considered for this role.
Essential Criteria
- Current Heavy Vehicle Driving License with appropriate class HC or MC
- Minimum HC class drivers' licence is required for this role.
- Knowledge of the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS) along with BFM standards
- Attained unit of competency TLIF0005 - Apply a fatigue risk management system (BFM Drivers only)
- Demonstrated driving record (a recent Driving History/ Demerit Point Record)
- Driving experience (an internal driving assessment will take place)
- Ability to safely conduct manual handling activities
- Good communication skills
- Acting with integrity
- Ability to comply with Company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge of the Australian Dangerous Goods Code (ADG)
- A Dangerous Goods License and Forklift License would be highly regarded.
