About the Role
As our Restaurant 2IC , you will support the Restaurant Manager in leading a small front-of-house team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, and delivering top-tier customer service. You’ll be hands-on in service, staff management, and event coordination while enjoying the perks of working in a picturesque, family-run winery .
Key Responsibilities
Operational Support:
- Assist in overseeing daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency and high standards.
- Supervise and train front-of-house staff, including rostering and performance management.
- Manage inventory, stock levels, and ordering supplies.
- Oversee cocktail and bar preparations.
Customer Service:
- Engage with guests to provide an exceptional dining experience.
- Handle customer feedback and resolve issues promptly.
- Ensure food and beverage service meets premium quality standards.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Facilitate seamless coordination between front-of-house and kitchen teams.
- Work with the winery team to enhance the integration of food and wine offerings.
Event Management:
- Assist in planning and executing events, including wine tastings, private functions, and special promotions.
- Support marketing efforts for events and seasonal menu updates.
Step-in Leadership:
- Act as the Manager on Duty in their absence, ensuring smooth restaurant operations and decision-making.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a restaurant, winery, or hospitality venue
- Strong customer service skills with a passion for creating memorable experiences.
- Ability to manage and mentor a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with stock control, ordering, and bar operations.
- Availability to work weekends and evenings as required.
- RSA certification (or willingness to obtain).
