About the Company:Our client is a privately-owned residential builder, run by a management team that collectively has well over 100 years of experience in building in South-East Queensland, with a strong appetite for managed growth.
The business occupies a leading position in a particular investment property sector, and that specific focus enables a level of expertise that ensures both investors and their tenants receive a high-quality product delighting both parties. Our client is in constant communication with property managers to ensure that properties are designed to achieve the highest returns possible whilst minimising tenant turnover.
In the past 24 months the company’s growth journey has included recruiting a number of key roles, investing in its processes, technology platform (including new construction management software) and marketing presence, and relocating to new offices.
About the Role:
The next step in the company’s evolution is to recruit a Financial Controller, an influential role in which you will report to the General Manager and work closely with the Directors.
You will own the Finance function and, in addition to overseeing day-to-day transactional processing, your remit will include all aspects of financial reporting and compliance, cashflow management, and financial forecasting and modelling.
Importantly, you will be a key contributor to strategic decision-making, providing insights and commentary, not just numbers.
About You:
You are a Degree-qualified CA/CPA who combines a strategic and practical approach to your work and can demonstrate:
- Ideally (but this is not mandatory), experience in construction environments.
- A history of having developed and/or improved financial reporting and forecasting.
- Experience in creating or enhancing budgeting and financial modelling processes.
- A track record that includes driving effective adoption of IT platforms.
- Ideally, experience in privately-owned businesses, including engaging directly with the owners.
