Who do we need?

We are currently seeking the services of a driven, hands-on, forward-thinking individual to join our dynamic team. Ideally, you will be an organised individual able to lead a small team and work autonomously to meet critical timeframes. You must be an agile, proactive and process driven person with an eye for detail and excellent communication skills. You’ll enjoy being on your feet, operating in a fast-paced environment that values adherence to process and procedure.

What will the role involve?

This position offers the right candidate the opportunity to make the role their own while contributing to the efficient coordination of deliveries, despatches, and warehouse + workshop operations.

As a Warehouse and Workshop Leader, you will play a key role in efficiently picking items from inventory, packing them carefully, preparing them for shipment and helping manage the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse space. You’ll also play a role on the workshop floor by supporting the team across various functions including fabrication of bandsaw blades and sharpening of industrial cutting equipment and blades.

The role offers a range of diversity on a daily basis. You’ll find yourself operating across our warehouses and workshop in various capacities such as;

  • Receive picking instructions and review order lists to identify the items to be picked
  • Coordinating production tasks and ensuring DIFOT
  • Accurately picking items from picking list, paying attention to quantity, size, and product specifications
  • Processing orders into invoices
  • Inventory management and reporting
  • Assist in maintaining warehouse organisation of products
  • Booking collections of orders
  • Receipting in-bounds goods and replenishing stocks
  • Retrieving stock from our warehouses for our workshop
  • Sorting saw blades for delivery runs
  • Cutting bandsaw blade material to length
  • Packaging completed bandsaw blades
  • Operation of industrial knife grinding machines
  • Unpacking containers
  • Operating materials handling equipment, such as pallet jacks or forklifts, safely and efficiently.
  • Adhering to all safety guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others.

  • Organised and committed to being punctual and reliable
  • Demonstrated Leadership Experience
  • Methodical and process driven
  • Valid open car licence
  • Valid forklift licence
  • Experience with general administration using ERP’s – pick slips, invoicing, delivery dockets
  • Problem solving ability
  • Excellent time management skills in order to meet strict deadlines
  • Focus and the ability to hold things together under high pressure
  • Able to adapt to changing and challenging situations
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Willing to work as part of a highly motivated team with the ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders at all levels, both written and verbally
  • An energetic and positive approach to all duties, challenges, deadlines and team members.
  • Dependable – completing all tasks on time
  • Strong understanding of safety requirements
  • Physical capability to undertake manual handling tasks
  • Intermediate level of the Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook

Prior experience in warehouse and workshop/process operation environments will be highly regarded. On the job training will be provided.
