About you
As an experienced Educator that specialises in Science or Marine Biology. You will have a passion for storytelling and enjoy sharing knowledge with others. You have knowledge of Coral Reef Biology including the Great Barrier Reef. You have experience
You would preferably have a Bachelor of Science majoring in Biology and/or a Bachelor of Education specialising in Science. You have your PADI Dive Master and Current Medical & Dive Insurance plus your First Aid and CPR (highly regard). You will also have your RSA and Food Hygiene certificates.
About the role
We are seeking a Reef Education Coordinator due to our continued success and ongoing growth. The Reef Education Coordinator will create a spark in young minds and connect classroom learning to the Great Barrier Reef. The programs designed by the Reef Education Coordinator will have a lasting impact on students, leaving them with memories to last a lifetime and a deeper understanding of the processes and creatures that encompass the Great Barrier Reef.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Selling Reef Education Programs by communicating with schools (principals, heads of departments and teachers)
- Creating and building relationships with schools (local, national and international)
- Liaising with educational agents in selling Reef Education programs
- Building immersive curriculum linked excursions running across Reef Unlimited brands
- Maintaining all Reef Education risk assessments, duty statements, procedures and training documents
- Train Marine Biologists and First Nations Culture Guides (GBR Biology) in the expectations and delivery of Reef Education Programs
- Ensuring the highest possible standard for all students and teachers in maintained whilst on the Great Barrier Reef
- Assisting with the facilitation and presentation of Reef Education programs
- Seek and apply for any funding in relation to the education space on the Great Barrier Reef
- Manage GBR Biology school work experience, national and international university internship programs.
