About our school
St Eugene College is a Catholic co-educational Prep-12 school located in Burpengary, with an enrolment of over 1500 students and a staff of approximately 150. We are a dynamic learning community for both our staff and students Our de Mazenod Charism and belief in the dignity of each person, along with our philosophy of transforming learning makes our College a place where all people feel they belong, can grow professionally and personally to embrace the JOY of working with young people.

About the opportunity

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Creating a nurturing and ordered learning environment that is learner-centred, supportive, cooperative, and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents and practices
  • Collaboratively developing and implementing quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy; evaluating their effectiveness; assessing and reporting student progress and learning outcomes; and reporting these to students, parents and the community
  • Working collaboratively with the leadership team, teachers and other staff members in contributing to the professional life of the school and fostering a positive school culture
  • Proactively engaging with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
  • Ability to teach Science and/or Media Arts highly desirable
  • Establishing positive relationships in the pastoral care of students and supporting their spiritual and moral development
  • Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.

  • Creating a supportive, learner-focused classroom aligned with the Australian Curriculum
  • Expertise in designing and delivering effective curriculum programs in line with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
  • Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to enrich learning experiences and achieve the best educational outcomes for students
  • A passion to support students' spiritual and moral development
  • For this position you are not required to be Catholic

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers.
