Position Summary
Project Manager at architectural modular construction company Blok Modular in Carole Park, Queensland, Australia. The role has a component of contract administration and estimating as required.
The Role
The purpose of this role is to drive project profitability and financial performance by applying cost-effective, efficient, and best-practice methods while maintaining the highest standards of quality. From the outset, the Project Manager takes a proactive approach by preparing accurate cost and time estimates, budgets, and overseeing subcontractor and materials tendering and procurement.
Once the project is underway, the focus shifts to implementing efficient measures to optimise costs and timelines, tracking variations that may impact budgets, and developing regular progress reports to monitor profitability. The Project Manager is tasked with balancing cost control and value for money while ensuring compliance with statutory building regulations and client contract requirements, maintaining quality and standards throughout.
This role is also responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, meet client expectations, and are closed out efficiently, including defect resolution and finalization of deliverables. Additionally, the Project Manager oversees financial aspects such as forecasting margins, managing cash flow, controlling expenditures, and ensuring timely preparation of claims and payments. Strict adherence to Company and Regulatory Workplace Health and Safety standards is essential in all aspects of the role.
Qualifications & Experience
For all positions, the following qualifications and experience are desirable:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management is ideal
- Experience in project management within residential construction
- Strong proficiency in Contracts Administration and Estimating
- Familiarity with modern construction methodologies
- Experience in modular construction highly regarded
- Proficient in MS and BuilderTrend or similar project management software
- Working knowledge of NCC
