Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join Bowls Australia in a dual role; Executive Officer of Bowls NT and Club Support Manager for NT. Employed by BA, the position is responsible for managing the day to day activities of Bowls in the NT. As the EO, you will report to the Bowls NT board and manage the overall operations of bowls, including finance, compliance and governance responsibilities. As CSM, you will be responsible for providing support to NT Bowls Clubs as part of Bowls Australia’s Club Support Program, with a focus on enhancing club participation and growth.


Key Responsibilities:



  • To manage the governance requirements of Bowls NT, supporting the President and Board.
  • To manage the operational functions of Bowls NT effectively and efficiently. Manage events, commercial development, communications and participation.
  • To manage the financial aspects of Bowls NT, including reconciliation, records and reporting.
  • Build strong relationships, both within Bowls and with external bodies such as NT Government, other NT based sports and commercial partners.
  • To oversee compliance matters of Bowls NT and other duties as directed by the Bowls NT Board and President.
  • Use data and intelligence to increase participation of all ages, genders, and cultures and drive long-life involvement in Bowls as a participant, coach or official.
  • Increase capability in the Club system by implementing tailored bowls specific Club Education and Development initiatives.
  • Help to create welcoming, safe and inclusive Clubs.

Qualifications and Skills: The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:



  • Experience in governance.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and strong stakeholder management skills.
  • High-level communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Excellent time management skills, prioritising tasks to meet daily and weekly programmed activity targets or longer-term organisational objectives.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, and to deal calmly and consistently with demanding responsibilities and conflicting priorities from a range of customers and staff utilising standard negotiation and conflict resolution techniques.
  • Advanced IT skills (Microsoft 365 suite).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Event management experience (preferably in a sporting role) (desirable).
  • Accounting or book-keeping knowledge, experience in use of Xero (desirable).
  • Tertiary qualification in sports management or management (desirable).

Interactions: You will engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including the BNT Board, club representatives, members, fellow BA staff, contractors, and external service providers such as local government authorities, schools, and community groups.


Unique Criteria: This role offers unique challenges and opportunities, including:



  • Periods of both intrastate and interstate travel to meet with stakeholders and attend/manage events.
  • Significant periods of work remote from office.
  • Unique work hours; must be flexible to meet the needs of clubs.
