Primary objective
Provide timely, accurate and quality administration and financial support to the Youth Justice Division including coordinating
purchases within detention centres in line with policies and procedures.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Responsible for high level business and financial support ensuring accuracy and integrity of data, working with high
volume transactions in a dynamic environment subject to strict deadlines.
2. Ordering goods approved for purchase, including management of stock controls.
3. Responsible for the accounts payables and receivable processes and invoices in NTG Pay in accordance with NT
Government financial policies and systems.
4. Undertake research and project work, as required, with a commitment to achieving quality outcomes.
5. High level of motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision, within a customer focused delivery mind-set.
6. Contribute to continuously improve the efficient and effective administrative processes in the Youth Justice Business
Support Team.
7. Maintain a Corporate Credit Card and acquit in a timely manner in accordance with Government policies.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated understanding of the Public Sector Employment and Management Act and Financial and Management Act
or ability to interpret and apply legislation.
2. Sound working knowledge and understanding of financial policies and procedures including demonstrated understanding
of cost centre management principles and applications.
3. A thorough working knowledge of accounts practices including EIMS, ECMS (Electronic Card Management System) and
Purchase Orders or similar systems.
4. Demonstrated capacity to manage time and resources effectively, to meet deadlines and to achieve results in a dynamic
environment of changing priorities and expectations with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
5. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, across a broad and varied stakeholder group, including the ability
to interact effectively with people from diverse cultures.
6. High level of self-management including ability to work with minimum supervision, use initiative and display sound
professional ethics and a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
7. A current NT Drivers Licence or ability to obtain.
Desirable
1. Certificate III or IV in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
