About the role:
The Senior Human Resources Officer provides professional, practical and timely support and advice to Council’s Staff on the full life cycle of Human Resources functions.
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following:
- Minimum Certificate IV Human Resources or minimum 3 years’ practical experience
in a similar role. - Strong understanding of recruitment techniques and talent acquisition, including
sourcing, interviewing, strategy and selection. - Demonstrate knowledge of, and the ability to interpret, policies, procedures, business
processes and employment legislation, including Enterprise Agreements, Modern
Awards, the NES and Fair Work Act. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a variety of stakeholders, negotiate, resolve conflict and influence outcomes.
- High level computer literacy skills with experience using the Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
- Knowledge and experience using a HRIS and Records Management system.
- The ability to adapt, plan, organise, and prioritise own workloads in a high volume and frequently changing environment.
Itwould be desirable if you also possessed:
- Knowledge of Technology One and/or MaqiQ Docs.
- Experience working within a Local Government or Public Sector environment.
- Previous experience living and/or working in remote Australian First Nations’ communities.
- Demonstrated high level of cross-cultural awareness to ensure effective participation in a multi-cultural workplace.
- Awareness of issues affecting First Nations People in Australia.
All employment with the EARC is subject to a Criminal History Check and the ability to obtain a Working with Children Clearance. Criminal history will not exclude an applicant unless it is relevant to the inherent requirements to their position.
What you'll get in return:
Full Time Permanent Employment
Level 5 - Salary $82,983 - $88,036 (excluding super and locality allowance).
You will also benefit from 6 weeks of Annual Leave with 17.5% leave loading.
