The role:One of these places is Arnhem Land, a historical region of the Northern Territory of Australia. It is also a vast wilderness area, defined by rocky escarpments, gorges, rivers and waterfalls.
To continue providing this valuable service we need an Occupational Health and Safety Adviser.
In this role, you will work closely with the Programme Director as you manage the effective running of the Quality and Safety Management Systems within the Arnhem Land Programme and other MAF I programmes. This includes developing, implementing and evaluating risk management policies and programs, training employees in occupational health and safety procedures, monitoring and auditing the workplace, and recording and investigating incidents to ensure safe and healthy working conditions.
You will also assist the MAFI Security Manager by carrying out Aviation Security Training, managing the local Aviation Security Program, as well as being the local representative for the Drug and Alcohol Management Programme.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:Essential Requirements
- 12 Year High School completion certificate.
- Meet or be prepared to meet CASA requirements for this role
- Worked within a Quality and/or Safety Management system
Desirable requirements
- Further education ie degree or equivalent in any field.
- A qualified pilot (does not need to be current) or qualified aircraft maintenance engineer (AME)
- Previous experience within an aviation environment.
- Experience in Quality and/or Safety Managements systems
- Training in root cause analysis, incident investigation techniques and post-accident actions
- Cross cultural experience
