The Opportunity

DASA is seeking full-time and part-time Assessment Workers based in Alice Springs, NT . This crucial role is responsible for conducting client assessments , managing the intake process , and ensuring individuals receive the support they need to engage with DASA’s rehabilitation programs.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting culturally safe, face-to-face, and phone-based client assessments
  • Managing intake emails and responding to referrals within set timeframes
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external service providers to facilitate program admissions
  • Creating and maintaining accurate client records using the Mimaso database
  • Coordinating Centrelink enrolments and monitoring financial obligations for residents
  • Providing brief intervention support as part of the assessment process
  • Upholding DASA policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives

About You

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in conducting assessments or intake processes in a similar field
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work with diverse clients
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • High-level computer literacy and database management experience
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards
  • A collaborative mindset to work effectively within a small assessment team

Additionally, the following qualifications and experience will be highly regarded:

  • Cert IV in Community Services (Alcohol & Other Drugs) – Highly Desirable
  • Familiarity with screening and assessment tools
  • Knowledge of Mimaso client database or similar systems
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care principles
