The successful candidate will report on issues important to Queensland farmers, from politics to livestock markets, cropping and bush characters, for both our print and online audiences. The role's key responsibilities:
- Gathering, writing and self-editing news stories for publication in both print and online
- Using social media and digital storytelling tools to create engaging online content
- Building relationships with new and existing audience members to help in your ability to source stories
- Attending, reporting on and representing the masthead at sales, conferences and other events.
The ideal candidate:
- An industry professional with experience in either journalism or agriculture
- Someone with a high attention to detail who is self-motivated and organised
- Someone with good time management skills to help meet important deadlines and a good communicator who is happy to network with new people
- Someone with a valid driver's licence
What's in it for you?
- Flexible work arrangements, for example, the opportunity to start early/finish early
- Work from home options
- Generous salary package
- Professional development opportunities
- Equipment including a laptop, camera and iPhone
While this is largely a work from home role, you may be required to travel.
