About the role

We are looking for an Electronic Instrument Trades Worker (Special Class) to maintain, adjust and repair electronic equipment such as electronic instruments and control systems, and transmit and receive radio messages.

Tasks

  • examining and testing machines, equipment, instruments and control systems to diagnose faults
  • adjusting, repairing, and replacing worn and defective parts and wiring, and maintaining machines, equipment and instruments
  • reassembling, test operating and adjusting equipment
  • advising users of correct operating procedures to prevent malfunctions
  • installing electronic instruments and control systems
  • applying knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic principles in commissioning and maintaining control systems

Skills and experience

Applicants will need to possess recent experience in Electrical or Mechatronics background with trade/diploma qualifications and at least two years of work experience in the industry along with.

  • Good knowledge of concepts, principles and practices of electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to read and understand technical documentation, drawings, manuals and OEM guides.
  • Working knowledge of diagnostic, mechanical and electrical tools and equipment.
  • Able to service and support equipment, including mechanical, electrical and electronic repairs.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Registration or licensing may be required.
