Description:
Synaco by Synergie is seeking Port Operators to join our team. In this role, you will contribute to the safe and efficient handling of cargo and equipment at our port facilities. This role is critical to the seamless movement of product.
Our client, located in the Northern Territory, offers a lifestyle-friendly 7 on:7 off roster FIFO roster on an ongoing basis for the right candidates. Chartered flights are provided from Darwin or Cairns, with interstate candidates responsible for their travel to one of these departure points. Onsite meals and accommodation are included. A site-specific pre-employment medical examination and drug and alcohol screening are required prior to mobilisation.
What You’ll Do
- Operate machinery such as loaders (up to CAT 992), cranes, forklifts, and loaders to handle cargo and containers.
- Load and unload materials from ships, trucks, and storage facilities efficiently and safely.
- Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements during operations.
- Assist in the secure stowage and handling of goods to prevent damage or loss.
- Maintain accurate records of product movement.
- Collaborate with supervisors, logistics teams, and other operators to ensure timely and efficient workflows.
What We’re Looking For
- Current Heavy Rigid licence (open)
- Previous experience in port operations and logistics.
- Valid licenses or certifications to operate port machinery (e.g., forklift, rigging, dogging, or crane licenses).
- Maritime Security Identification Card (MISC) – current or willing to obtain.
- Strong awareness of safety practices and procedures.
- Physical fitness to handle manual tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
