Business Analyst for HSE
Cathara Consulting is an Australian-based Consulting firm specialising in Business Transformations and Technology Consulting & Resourcing Services.
Our Northern Territory based client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the implementation and delivery of HSE related projects, on a 12-month initial contract. The successful candidate will provide the foundational analysis, requirements, design, and solutioning that supports the delivery of a range of projects, as well as being a key member of the delivery team, while fostering a strong safety culture.
Tasks & Responsibilities:

Lead (and support) the development and documentation of business processes including process objectives/outcomes, roles, responsibilities, policies and process maps, according to common business process standards and identify business improvements

Work with key staff from a number of diverse business units to gather and document business specifications and translate those into functional and non-functional requirements

Work with key staff from various business units to build relationships, document and develop business scenarios, procedures and work instructions to support the business process using the required standards, methods and tools

Plan and coordinate requirement gathering activities with stakeholders to develop and validate key deliverables to support embedding of changed business practices

Work with key staff to lead and develop suitable business measurement and metrics, with a number of diverse business units

Work with business units to develop documentation to support the implementation of processes within business units

Develop documentation such as functional and non-functional specifications, process maps, procedures

Prioritise business requirements and/or user story backlogs
Essential Skills & Experience

Experienced Business Analyst, minimum 5 years

Experience in working on IT enabled business change projects

Experience in analysing and interpreting a diverse range of business and technical requirements into functional and non-functional business requirements and aligning these with strategic drivers.

Strong understanding of requirements gathering and definition

Strong capability in process design and business process reeinineering

High level strategic, conceptual and analytical skills including successfully translating complex requirements into succinct and meaningful design and scoping documents

Experience in in planning, eliciting and validating requirements through different techniques.

Previous experience in identifying and mapping complex data flows

Demonstrated history of developing and executing business analysis plans which document a logical and methodical range of activities to deliver solution outcomes

Demonstrated analytical approach to problem solving in resolution of issues

High level of written and oral communication and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and information transfer at all levels

Experience working in a diverse environment

Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with the ability to accommodate changing and competing priorities and varying timelines
Clearance Requirements:

National Police Clearance
The successful candidate must be based in or prepared to relocate to Darwin for the term of the contract. No remote or hybrid working options will be accepted.
