About the Opportunity
The Governmant Relations Advisor will be instrumental in supporting our external stakeholder engagement activities, particularly around our transition to a low-carbon future. This role will provide key support to senior staff in managing AGIG’s relationships with Government, policymakers, and influencers across the energy sector, ensuring that our business objectives and vision are effectively communicated and supported.
Please note: This role can be based in Adelaide or Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in engaging with politicians at both Federal and State levels to build strong, lasting relationships, enhance AGIG’s profile, and secure policy certainty.

Support the development and delivery of key messages to external stakeholders, providing strategic input into issues management and Corporate Affairs strategy.

Contribute to AGIG’s external communications strategy, including speeches, presentations, and external communications efforts.

Monitor government policies and developments that could impact AGIG’s business and its low-carbon ambitions.

Coordinate stakeholder and advocacy engagements and attend relevant meetings as required.

Collaborate with Corporate Affairs colleagues on media, policy, and external communications initiatives.

Provide strategic advice and research to shape AGIG’s policy positions and responses to government policy changes.

Support efforts to influence government and industry positions to mitigate risks and optimize opportunities.

Prepare written and verbal briefs for the CEO and Executives for engagements with government officials and senior external executives.
About You
-
Strong understanding of political, policy, and legislative processes.
-
Proven experience analysing complex issues and crafting effective communication strategies.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
-
Experience working directly with ministerial offices and government departments.
-
2+ years of relevant experience in Corporate Affairs, Public Policy, or Government Relations.

Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

Strong organisational and time management skills

An understanding of Australia’s energy market and renewable energy transition is desirable but not essential.
