About the role
We are currently looking to appoint a passionate Music Teacher, whose focus is to deliver a vibrant curriculum that develops a love of music in our youngest Walford students (ELC-6).
Commencing in Semester 2 2025, this permanent, part-time role with an FTE of 0.5, works collaboratively with our Head of Music and Head of Junior School. Whilst the permanent substantive for this position is 0.5, there are semesters where this may increase. In 2025 there is a temporary increase of 0.15 - total FTE in 2025 – 0.65.
The successful candidate will be a highly organised individual who excites and interests students in musical activities and facilitates each student's learning and achievement by purposefully designing learning opportunities utilising a range of appropriate learning, teaching, feedback, and assessment strategies.
Responsibilities
The daily priorities of this role will be varied, however, will encompass the following key elements:

Prepare and deliver a high-quality Music program, in line with the requirements of the Australian Curriculum and IB Primary Years Programme.

Employ a range of strategies to differentiate learning and teaching, in response to a range of data about student learning.

Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum as part of a collaborative team.

Conduct the Year 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6 Choirs, and coordinate and direct the Year 5 Band Immersion Program.

Select engaging and appropriate repertoire and manage Junior School Music events.

Coordinate and present a biannual Junior School Musical and Showcase, and an annual Christmas Concert.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
-
University qualifications in teaching and education.
-
Up-to-date, relevant knowledge of Music learning and teaching.

Capacity to conduct choirs.
-
Arts event management experience.
-
A high level of competency in information and learning technologies.

South Australian Teacher Registration.
-
Working with Children Check (WWCC).
-
Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect (Fundamentals and Masterclass).
